The Buffet Method

Feeding hermit crabs doesn't have to be complicated.

In the wild, hermit crabs eat something different every day. They don't rely on one food. They explore, forage, and choose from whatever nature provides.

The Buffet Method is a simple way to recreate that variety at home.

Complete Meals

Complete Meals are the foundation of the buffet. Each recipe contains a thoughtful mix of proteins, fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and calcium, making it easy to offer variety in every scoop.

Single Ingredients

Single Ingredients add even more choice. Rotate different proteins, fruits, vegetables, flowers, leaves, seeds, and other natural foods to keep the buffet fresh and interesting.

The Core

Some foods should always be available.

Keep green sand, worm castings, and a calcium source in the enclosure at all times. Together, they form The Core of the buffet and can be offered alongside daily meals.

How to Feed

Each day, offer a small pinch of one or two Complete Meals, a few Single Ingredients, and keep The Core available.

Then let your crabs choose.

There's no need to force a balanced meal at every feeding. Over time, they'll eat what they need.

Build a fresh buffet every day.

Nature never serves the same plate twice.
